Robert Asbury Holcomb, age 76, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Mr. Holcomb was born on August 22, 1944 in Transylvania Co., NC to the late Robert Odell Holcomb and Tilda Butler Holcomb. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Galloway Holcomb; a son, Kenneth Holcomb; four sisters, Polly Chappell, Doris Ramsey, Barbara Pitawankawat, and Georgia Anders; one brother, Odell Holcomb.

Mr. Holcomb was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam and retiring after 20 years of service.

Survivors include a son, Scott Holcomb of Brevard; a daughter, Glenda Lance and husband Jeff of Brevard; a sister, Martha Aiken of Rosman; seven grandchildren, Cole Holcomb of Rosman, Christopher Holcomb of Rosman, Aaron Holcomb of Rosman, Chesnea Lance of Arden, Kari Clampitt and husband Shane of Waynesville, Jillian Treglown and husband Branton of Augusta, GA, and Will Lance of Brevard; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM Monday, May 17, 2021 at G.W. Whitmire Cemetery, Rosman NC. Military rites will be conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.
