Robert Lee "Bob" Hunter Brevard – Robert Lee "Bob" Hunter, 71, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2011. Born in Buncombe County on December 19, 1939, he was the son of the late George and Irene Williams Hunter. Mr. Hunter moved to Brevard at an early age. He was a 1957 graduate of Brevard High School and was retired from DuPont after 34 years of service. He loved golf, riding his motorcycle, and woodworking. Mr. Hunter was a member of Cathey's Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Hunter; daughter, Jenny Hunter of Etowah; son, Chris Hunter and wife Kirsten of San Francisco, CA; brothers, Tom Hunter of Charleston, SC, and Bill Hunter and wife Cleo of Penrose. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Pisgah Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Alzheimer's Association.
