Robert Cornelius Landers 76, of Henderson County went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2024. Born on September 6, 1947, in Transylvania County to the Late Cornelius and Christine Landers. He leaves behind a loving wife of almost 56 years Linda Landers, five daughters, Melissa Landers (Gary McCall) of Old Fort, Rebecca Moniz, Nancy Orr of Etowah, Crystal Landers of Edneyville and Vanissa Landers of Etowah, eight grandchildren, Emily Brown, Robbie Riley, Dakota Moniz, Tequilia Cairnes, Marvin (Spud) Cairnes, Kayla Moniz, Cassie Landers, and Paul Orr, ten great- grandchildren, Skyler Summey, Hayleigh Huffstickler, Waylon and Creed Inman, Sadie, Zoey, Peter Coffey, Charlie Moniz, Christopher Cardenas and Levi Galvan; one brother Harold Justus, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, great – great nephews and some exceptional friends especially Robert Crook.
He is proceeded in death by three brothers, Henry Landers, Lawrence Landers, Floyd Justus and two sisters, Leota Justus, and Sarah Short.
He had many hobbies over the years from watching the Braves win (lose), hunting, going out on the boat (more like dragging the kids across the lake on tubes and skis), playing with the great grandkids but the one thing he loved to do was fish. He was well known around the lakes, but his favorite was Spivey's Carp Pond where he made lots of friends, but one friend in particular, Brian Hall.
Like his dad, he shared the love of being a Volunteer Fireman then lifetime member at Etowah Horseshoe Fire Department for fifty years. He loved to sit around and tell stories of his fire experiences, especially with his great nephew Spencer McMinn who also shares the love.
He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him!!!
The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
