Brevard - Robert Rigby Liggett, Jr. died June 15, 2024  after a brief stay in Tore's Home.

Bob was born December 1, 1935 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  He was the only child of  the late Robert R. Liggett, Sr. and Carolyn Marshall Liggett.

When he was seven years old his parents moved across the river to Northern Kentucky where he entered Beechwood Independent School.

After graduation from high school he enrolled at Capital University, Columbus, Ohio and majored in biology.  In the fall of his senior year he met Barbara Smucker and they were married September 19, 1958.  Upon graduation Bob enrolled at the University of Cincinnati to begin working toward his masters in bacteriology.  It was while teaching an undergraduate lab that he discovered his love of teaching.  He retired after thirty years teaching science and biology in middle school and high school.

During this time Bob and Barbara bought a hundred acre hill farm near Warsaw, Kentucky.  There they spent the best years of their life raising a family and a big garden.

Besides his beloved wife Barbara, he leaves behind his beloved son,  Robert and husband Doug Nesbitt of Lexington, Kentucky and daughter Heather Jones and partner Mike Howard of Longmont, Colorado, and  grandchildren,  Sophie Jones of Portland, Oregon and Gavin Jones of Bozeman, Montana.

Memorial donations may be made to St Patrick's Anglican Church or the charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick's Anglican Church on Highway 64, Brevard with interment at Johnson Cemetery, Archbold, Ohio.
