Brevard - Robert "Bob" William Sawyer, Jr., 66, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 at the St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of Marjorie Sawyer Williams of Kitchener, Ontario and the late Robert William Sawyer, Sr. Mr. Sawyer was a Christian and he loved the Lord. He was of the Presbyterian (PCA) faith. He enjoyed gardening and bluegrass music. He was self-employed in the construction trades and retired in 2010. Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Sandra Wishart Sawyer; son, Robert William Sawyer and wife Alison of Toronto, ON; sister, Joyce Sawyer Barker and husband Rick of Wellesley, ON; brothers, David Sawyer of Atlanta, GA and Rick Williams and wife Paula of Waterloo, ON; sister-in-law, Patsy Sawyer of Atlanta, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Kyle Reese officiating. The graveside service will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Pisgah Gardens with the Rev. Jim Richwine officiating. A memorial service will be held in Canada at a later date.
