Robert Wayne Shook, 80, of Brevard, went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 9, 2026.
He was born on November 15, 1945. Wayne was a man of deep faith, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He lived his life guided by his trust in God and his desire to serve others with kindness and humility while leading them to Christ. He was a proud Navy Veteran Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Petty Officer and then successful business owner of Sunrise TV. In retirement, you could find him cheering on the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Redskins, and many NASCAR drivers if he wasn’t in his garden, with his loving wife, or with his children or grandchildren.
Wayne was the son of the late Arthur Shook and Lavonia Baynard Osment. He was preceded in death by the love of his life for 50 years, his wife, Lynn Shook.
Survivors include his daughter, Debi Thomson and husband, Doug, of Bolivia; his son, David Shook and wife, Jeanne, of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Ashleigh Thomson, Emily Shook, Caleb Thomson, and Allyson Shook; his sisters Belinda Cooper (Bobby) and Judy Hannum and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to express appreciation to Kim McCall for the care and support in assisting with Wayne’s care for the last few years.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 12:45 on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Moody-Connolly Funeral. A graveside service will follow at 1 PM at Gillespie-Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to MS society.
