Robert Bernard Yarns passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, after a brief illness. He was 73 years old. He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and son, Brandon. Bob graduated from Berlin American High School in 1965. He lived in Berlin, Germany, for 5 years with his parents and always spoke fondly of his time overseas. He was a teacher and later guidance counselor at Brevard High School. He retired in 1998. People on the street would often come up to him and say, "Mr. Yarns, you taught me years ago, and you were my favorite teacher." In retirement, Bob taught psychology part time at Spartanburg Technical College and pursued an interest in writing. He worked on several novels and self-published one online, Amaranth. Moody-Connolly Funeral Home is handling arrangements. His family will hold a graveside service open to the public on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at noon at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
