Ronald Claude Reed, 76 of Flat Rock, North Carolina, went peacefully to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 13, 2021. A native of Swannanoa, North Carolina, he was the oldest son of Claude Reed and Nell Stacey Reed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sandy McIntosh and Trena Owenby. Ronald spent most of his career as a truck driver. Prior to his retirement, he most enjoyed driving for Ingles Markets. If you knew him at all, you would know that he loved NASCAR, fishing and playing his bass guitar. He always said that the best time of his life was singing and playing with his church quartet called "Psalm 100". Before moving back to Flat Rock, he was a member of Ingleside Baptist Church in Landrum, South Carolina. Survivors include his wife Edith Reed, daughter Taletha Gray (Mickey), granddaughter Jordan Snipes, grandson Justin Gray and his siblings, Melissa Fox (Charles) of Mars Hill, and his brothers, Billy Reed and Tommy Reed of Swannanoa. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
