Rosie G. Meece, 91 of Brevard passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013. She was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Miram Huggins Gillespie. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Meece, her son; Freeman Meece, daughters Linda Whitmire and Janet Bourne and her sister, Pansy Gillespie. Frances was a lifelong resident of Transylvania County. She was member of the Mount Moriah Calvert Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Survivors include her daughter; Betty Smith of Etowah, a son in law Jerry Whitmire of Brevard, grandchildren, Charles Allen and wife Tracey of Brevard, Jennifer Whitmire of Brevard, James Stanley and wife Jennifer of Franklin and Ian Smith of Newberry, SC, great grandchildren; Hunter Holden, Anakin and Asher Allen, Zoe and Kylie Stanley.
