Pisgah Forest - Roy Nelson Ashe, 81, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, November 1, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was born July 28, 1944 to the late Tom and Nina Ashe of Jackson County. Roy was employed at Ecusta Papermill for 39 years and retired as the Mill Manager in 2002. Over the years he made countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, James, his loving wife of 53 years, Ailene and son, Christopher.

Survivors include his brother,  John Edward Ashe and wife "BJ" of Pisgah Forest, sister,  Leona Galloway and husband "JC" of Rosman, daughter, Melanie Delgadillo and  husband Rafael and daughter,  Esenia Elena of New Orleans, grandson,  Isaac Ashe, wife Kimberly and three sons Eathan, Brantley, Walker of Pisgah Forest, grandson,  Jacob Ashe and wife Shawnee and son Damion of Brevard, granddaughter,  Mallory Smith of Palm Coast Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held 3pm, Saturday, November 8, 2025 in the chapel of Moody Connolly Funeral Home. Anyone who knew Roy and would like to come tell a story or sing a song is welcome.

In lieu of flowers Roy was fond of donating to St. Jude Children Hospital and Tunnel to Towers Foundation please make any donations to these organizations in remembrance of Roy Nelson Ashe.
