Lake Toxaway - Roy Gene Ashe, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home Friday May 17, 2024.

He was born  in Jackson County, North Carolina on December 21, 1933. He was the son of the late Lavada Bryson.

Roy was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Hazel Johnson Ashe and his son, Stephen Christopher Ashe.

He was an  Army and Air Force veteran. After his military service, he was employed at the Ecusta Plant in Brevard. Later, he was a truck driver for over thirty years transporting automobiles. He lived in Douglasville Georgia for many years before retiring to Lake Toxaway.

Roy was active member at Douglasville Baptist Temple for many years. He enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states, Europe, and China.

Survivors include his son Greg Ashe (Nancy) of Carrollton, Georgia and daughter,  Melony Bohanan of Lake Toxaway North Carolina, sister,  Wanda Walter of Weaverville North Carolina, grandchildren,  Jeremy Bohanan, Joshua Bohanan, Jon Bohanan, and Yuchen Pan and greatgrandchildren Lily Bohanan, Harper Bohanan, and Syrus Bohanan.

A celebration of life service will be announced later.
