Ruby Whitmire Brewer, age 90 of Brevard died Tuesday January 18, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was born December 14, 1920 to the late Thomas David Whitmire and Artie Meece Whitmire. A native of Transylvania County. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and J.B. Whitmire, And a stepsister Jessie Mann. Mrs. Brewer is survived by her husband, John Brewer of the home, two sisters; Hazel of Piedmont, SC and Louise of Forest City, a sister-in-law Jane Whitmire of Forest City. Mrs. Brewer was a homemaker and a former member of Zion Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday January 21, 2011 at 2:00pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Bobby Howard. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens.
