Brevard – Russell Wert Alexander, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Kingsbridge House. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Bert and Roxie McGaha Alexander and was the husband of the late Joyce Moses Alexander. He was also preceded in death by his son, Danny and brother in law, Ray Estes. Mr. Alexander was a U. S. Army Veteran, serving during WW II. He retired from Lockheed Martin, Marietta, GA, and was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Alexander was a Mason and a Shriner. He was a member of Yaarab Shrine Temple of Atlanta, GA. Survivors include a sister, Mary Edith Estes age 96 of Virginia Beach VA and her son Jimmy Estes and wife Catherine also from Virginia; some grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Friday, December 30, 2016 at Turkey Creek Baptist Church. Online condolences may be left at www.moodyconnollyfuneralhome.com.
