Brevard - Russell Ernest Huggins, 95, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 16, 2021. He was born April 2, 1926, the son of the late Van and Rose McCall Huggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Cleo, his brother, Van Huggins Jr., and his sister, Pat Owen. Russell served in the Army during World War II and retired from Ecusta. He spent his retirement with Cleo and his family, doing activities they all enjoyed, and he lovingly cared for Cleo prior to her death in 2017. Russell is survived by his son, James "Ernest" Huggins and wife Diane, his granddaughter, Christy Bryson and husband Jeremy, his grandson, James Huggins and wife Kendra, two brothers, Ronald Huggins (Renolga) and Gary Huggins (Rhonda), both of Lake Toxaway, and a sister, Rosalie Passmore (Tommy) of Hendersonville. He also has six great-grandchildren: Trista, Carter, Parker, Charlie, Alana, and Beckett. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 2pm, Monday, December 20, 2021 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Jeff Maynard officiating.
