Ellis, MD. age84, passed away Thursday April 14, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital after an extended illness. Born March 9, 1927 in Anderson Indiana, the daughter of the late Ray Clifton Ellis, Sr. and Wilhelmina Powers Ellis. She attended public schools in Kokomo Indiana and Washington DC and then graduated from the University of Michigan and Boston University School of Medicine. Fond of tennis, an expert linguist, possessing common sense and mechanical deft, she was drawn to science and medicine. She was an Obstetrician & Gynecologist with a private practice for over forty years in Midland Michigan before retiring to Brevard. Dr. Ellis was a long time member of Brevard Davidson-River Presbyterian Church. Dr. Ellis and her life long special friend Jean Conger traveled widely around the world and across the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Wilhelmina Ellis. She is survived by her brother Ray C. Ellis, Jr. and wife Gretchen of Berlin Massachusetts, brother Herbert H. Ellis and wife Nancy of Asheville and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home conducted by Rev.KeithThompson. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Brevard-Davidson River Presbyterian Church, 300 E.
