Cedar Mountain – Ruth Elaine Jones, 56, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Earle Jones and Blanche Scruggs Jones. Ruth was a 1973 graduate of Brevard High School and a 1977 graduate of UNC-Greensboro. She was employed as a Health Educator with the Transylvania County Health Dept. She was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and Children's Church director. Ruth was active in many community service organizations, was an avid tennis player, and enjoyed cross stitch. Surviving are her aunts, Vera Stinson of Cedar Mountain, Dixie Lane of Atlanta, GA, and Annie Wickliffe of Cedar Mountain; numerous cousins. The graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tony Hemphill officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church's Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Hill Baptist Church, P. O.
