Balsam Grove - Ruth LaVerne Owen, 64, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 7, 2015.

A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late George T. Owen and Willie Mae Elmore Owen and was the wife of the late Carol Willie Owen. She was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Chasity Robinson and Samantha Lewis.

Survivors include her son, Mark Owen and wife Melissa M. Owen; two daughters, Tabetha Riddle and husband Mac, Laura Owen Galloway and husband Brent; one sister, Shirley Roper and husband Remus; two brothers, Paul Owen and wife Debbie, Jim Owen and wife Carol; grandchildren, Brady Owen, Beau Owen, Brooklyn Owen, Briana Owen, Emily Robinson, Aaron Lewis, Courtney Fisher, Shane Lewis, Jordan Bass, Jacob Riddle; great-grandchildren, Bradley Lewis, Jessica Fisher, Julia Fisher, Jordan Riddle, Kodie Lewis, Aiden Lewis; mother-in-law, Inez Owen Ammons; many brothers and sisters in law that she loved very much.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 PM Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Affirmative Word Tabernacle with Rev. Troy Stamey officiating.
