Hendersonville, NC – A. Ruth Sheehan, of Hendersonville, NC, went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on the afternoon of June 21, 2013 after an extended illness. Ruth was born November 5, 1928 in Weaverville, NC. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Ollie Whittemore. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Riley Sheehan and brothers, Paul, Wilbur, Ralph and Carroll; and sisters, Ada Mae, and Velva. She is survived by brothers, Mac Whittemore and his wife Esta Lou; Woodson Whittemore and his wife, Shirley; and sister, Barbara Buckner. She is also survived by her five children, Kerry, Debra, Bryan, Michael and Stuart; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. She was a homemaker, writer, and had a love of nature. A graveside service will be held at Pisgah Gardens, 1017 New Hendersonville Hwy, Pisgah Forest, NC 28768 at 11:00 a.m. on June 25, 2013.
