Brevard – Samuel Frederick Tinsley, 84, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015.

He was the son of the late Henry Porter Tinsley, Sr. and Lula Azilee Baker Tinsley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Earl Tinsley.

Mr. Tinsley served in the US Navy. He was a member of Cherryfield Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife Betty Moody Tinsley; sons, Anthony Frederick Tinsley of Brevard and Greg Tinsley and wife Kristen of Brevard; brother, Henry Porter Tinsley, Jr. and wife Jane of Pisgah Forest; brother and sister in law, Michael and Gloria Wilson; grandson, Lane Tinsley and special friends, Cindy Hoxit, Devan Ball Hoxit and Johnnie Ball and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Cherryfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Preslar officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
