Sandra Elaine Stepp Morgan
It is always difficult to say goodbye to someone you love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Sandy Morgan of Etowah, NC, who passed away at the age of 68.
On April 17, 1958, William “Bill” and Carolyn Burrell Stepp celebrated the birth of their only child and the center of their universe, their daughter Sandy. On September 5, 2026, they were waiting in Heaven with open arms to welcome her home. What a reunion it must have been for Sandy to finally meet her Saviour face to face and to rejoin her parents, her beloved husband Ronnie, and all the family and friends who got there before her!
During her sixty-eight years on this earth, Sandy treasured her daughter Joanna (whom she called “my precious girl”), her family, her church families at Grace Baptist and Carr’s Hill Baptist, her former coworkers at Henderson County DSS, and her many friends old and new, including her friends from her years at Dana Elementary and East Henderson High.
As Sandy and Ronnie raised their daughter Joanna, they shared with her their unshakeable, immovable faith in Jesus Christ and taught her that all undertakings in life should reflect the teachings of Jesus and the grace filled love of God. After Ronnie’s death, Sandy continued to guide her to remain true to her upbringing.
In addition to being a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, friend, and faithful church worker, she had a professional life of service to the people of Transylvania and Henderson Counties, where she was Program Administrator of Income Maintenance.
Everyone who knew her was blessed by having her in their lives. She was a giver, an encourager, a caring loving person whom we will miss terribly. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor her memory may make a donation to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
