Pisgah Forest - Sandra Mae Owen died peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

She was born in Brevard, NC on April 10, 1961 to Betty Fortune Owen and the late Tillmon Webb Owen.

In addition to her mother Betty, she is survived by her son James Eric Hemphill IV and wife Karyn of Brevard and her son Michael A. Hemphill and wife Joann of Greensboro, NC.

She was loved by her sisters Linda McNabb (Mike), Patricia Justice (Mike), Rebecca Birdsong (Louis), and her brother Sam Owen (Wilma). She loved and cherished two grandchildren, Chloie Kayanna Hemphill and James Eric Hemphill V.

Friends and family from near and far will remember Sandy for her kind heart and selflessness.

Please join our family in celebrating her beautiful life on Monday, June 5, 2023, at 2pm at Glade Creek Baptist Church in Pisgah Forest. A visitation will be held at 1pm, prior to the service. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory. Reverend Sharad H. Creasman will officiate.
