Obituary

Sandra Landreth Skerrett, (Sandy) 76, passed away on September 19th in Brevard with her family at her side. The daughter of the late Eugene Martin Landreth and Pauline Duckett King, she was born in Penrose, NC on April 22, 1945, where she grew up and graduated from Brevard High School in 1963. It was there that she found her husband, Oliver Skerrett, Jr (Butch) and they began their journey as faithful servants of the lord. They were blessed with 4 children. Through her many travels with her husband, Butch, Sandy touched many lives throughout VA, Fla, NC and SC as part of her ministry. She was best known for her love of music and her love of the piano. A true servant of God her music and song filled everyone with hope, joy and love. One of her most cherished roles was Choir Director at Rocky Hill Baptist Church. In addition to being the wife of a minister and member of the choir she also obtained her Associates degree in Nursing. Of all her accomplishments she was most proud of her family. She adored her children and grandchildren. To them she is best known for her warm smiles, spunky spirit, big hugs, and unconditional love. A true mothers heart. She is survived by her husband, Butch, her children, Dawn Skerrett of Cedar Mountain, NC, Angie Beeker (Tom) of Hendersonville, NC, Jonathan Skerrett (Tara) of Greenville, SC, and Stefanie Eaves (Anson) of Concord, NC and her grandchildren, Cassidy Skerrett , Ben Beeker, Emily Beeker, Marin Eaves, and Banks Eaves. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 22nd At Rocky Hill Baptist Church , 70966 Greenville Highway, Cedar Mountain, NC 28718. Donations may be made to Rocky Hill Baptist Church Choir.
