Brevard - Scotty Larue Kinsey, 74, went home to be with the Lord on January 23, 2025.

He was the son of Maxine Kinsey of Brevard, NC and the late Fred Kinsey of Cashiers, NC.  He is preceded in death by his older brother, Larry Kinsey.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Deborah B Kinsey of Brevard, NC. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, David Kinsey (Kelley) of Balsam Grove, NC, Jonathan Kinsey (Brandy) of Brevard, NC, and his grandchildren, Hunter, Jaylen, Colten, and Bryce, his brother, Freddy Kinsey of Lake Toxaway, NC, as well as several nieces and nephews.

After proudly serving two tours in Vietnam between 1968 - 1971 with the US Army, he began a long career with Dupont MFG that lasted through the plant closing. He enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to: Brevard VFW, 50 Veteran's Circle, Brevard, NC  28712.

Memorial services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2025. The family will receive friends following the service.
