IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Shannon Eugene
Breedlove
June 8, 1966 – March 27, 2025
Shannon Eugene Breedlove
June 8, 1969 - March 27th, 2025
Shannon Breedlove was born on Sunday June 8th, 1969, in Transylvania County, NC and passed away from a long fight with asthma and other health conditions March 27th, 2025. We take comfort in knowing because of his deep and steadfast faith that he went to sleep and woke up in the arms of Jesus with healthy lungs and body.
Shannon was the son of Jimmy Breedlove and Martha Burrell (Bill), brother to seven siblings Laura Robinson (Jeremy), Eric Breedlove (Stephanie), Vera Cubero (Frank), Dawn Owen (Trampus), Joseph Barton, Isaiah Breedlove (Amber), & Jonathan Breedlove, and Troy Jones and Jason Jones, his cousins that were more like brothers. He was a loving father to five children, Nathan Breedlove, Natalie Breedlove, Logan Breedlove, Luke Breedlove and Morgan Breedlove who were the light of his life and his greatest pride and joy. He was father-in-law to Francesca M Gaza, Joseph Poppa, Alyssa Deyman, Savanna Jones and Nikki Franklin and grandfather to 5 grandkids Raelynn Breedlove, Waylen Wettlaufer, Weston Breedlove, Holden Jones and Anastasia Galloway.
He was always a kid at heart and had so many of what he called "weejigins" (nephews and nieces) that would light up when they saw their uncle Shannon and who held a special place in his heart.
A friend to everyone, he had too many true friends to name such as Danny Brown, Tonya Fox, Mark Miller, Brad Ohlson, Cody and Chris Cliffton, Kevin Galloway, Brad and so many others.
He left behind his most recent dog Bella and he is now joined together again with all of the beloved pets he had in his lifetime. He was an entrepreneur and creative spirit. Whether he was building something brilliant out of nothing, going on a "short trip" that lasted all day or cracking jokes that made you groan and grin at the same time. He was the world's biggest bluegrass music fan and when he listened to it, everyone around him got to hear it too! He lived life with a twinkle in his eye and so much love in his heart, always seeing the good in everyone.
He was most comfortable and at peace in the woods and had deep appreciation for all natural things. Every piece of driftwood, pine knot, medicinal plant, beehive, tree ear and rock brought him joy and will bring fond memories of him to all who loved him forever. The crystal mine was his favorite place to be along with whoever accompanied him and he made sure everyone around him got a front-row seat to his Shannon-igans. If you were to ever ask him if he was ok, he'd say, "fair to middlin" and when you'd say goodbye he'd say, "I'll speak to you directly" and with that I believe we'll all have a good chat when we join him there someday.
Please join us for a celebration of Shannon's life on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 1:00-5:00 pm at the Lake Toxaway Community Center. Everyone who knew and loved Shannon is welcome to attend. We will have good food, fellowship, horseshoes, corn hole, and lots of blue grass music by The Slick Fisher Boys and 'shannon-igans' as we celebrate the impact he had on so many people and honor his memory.
