Brevard – Shirley Singleton Raines, age 69, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2020. She was the daughter of the late James and Lucy Owen Singleton. She was preceded in by two sisters, Pat Godwin and Christine Knight and one brother, Timothy Singleton. Shirley was a very giving lady. She always put others needs before her own. She was a very dedicated pastor's wife. She enjoyed reading and bird watching. Above all, she adored her family and especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Pastor Paul Raines, one son, Matthew Raines and wife Tracie of Brevard, one daughter, Christina Dobbins and husband Sean of Brevard, three brothers, James Singleton and wife Marsha of Brevard, Sam Singleton and wife Sheila of Lake Toxaway and Joey Singleton and wife Wanda of Balsam Grove, two sisters, Bonnie Miller of Brevard and Teresa Singleton of Blantyre, grandchildren, Justin, Jacob, Brandon, Logan, Kayla, Tristin, Zachary, Rebekah, Elwood and Rachel, 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 4:30pm, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
