Obituary

Sidney Riley McCall Balsam Grove- Sidney Riley McCall, 74, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013. A native of Transylvania County, he was a son of the late Cornelius and Viola McCall. He was also preceded in death by his sisters; Luella Nicholson and Evelyn Anders and a brother, Orville McCall. Sidney loved music and loved his family and friends. Surviving is his wife; Carol Jean Gosnell McCall, sons; Buddy McCall and wife Pam of Balsam Grove and Desten McCall and wife Keta of Glenville, daughters; Karen Landreth and husband Marc of Horse Shoe, Virginia (Geni) McCall and Charles Allison of Brevard and Pamela Leonard and husband Ronald of Balsam Grove, brothers; Stanford McCall of Philomath, Oregon and David McCall of Balsam Grove, grandchildren; Brandon and Jesse Arnold, Marc Landreth II, Nathaniel Galloway, Crystal Arrington, Kendra and Jeremy Ashe, Rodney and Kelly Orr, Michelle and Ronnie Leonard, Ashley Blackwell, Robert Leonard, Anthony and Roxie McCall; 31 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Friday, January 3, 2014 at Woods Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Devon Owen officiating. A Celebration of Life reception will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Balsam Grove Community Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carol Jean McCall c/o Wells Fargo Bank Brevard or Cashiers branch.
