Brevard – Spurgeon Esby McCall, age 75, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Esby and Mary Angeline Galloway McCall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jule and Jimmy McCall. Spurgeon was a Master welder whose shop was in the Cathey's Creek area of Transylvania County. He enjoyed working with his hands. Survivors include one brother, Charlie McCall and wife Kathy of Balsam Grove, special companion, Faye and her children, Step daughter, Lisa, two nephews, Charlie and Jule and one niece, Michelle. A memorial service will be held 6pm, Friday, October 25, 2019 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with Rev. Buster McCall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
