Stephanie L. Franklin, 43, of Leland and Brevard, North Carolina went into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, December 11, 2021 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Stephanie was a member of the Cape Fear Christian Church in Wilmington, NC and attended Dunn's Rock Baptist Church during her year in Brevard, NC. Stephanie was an Academic Advisor and Adjunct Instructor at UNC-Wilmington. Prior to moving to the coast, she worked at UNC-Asheville. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Lola Mae Glazener of Brevard, NC, paternal grandparents Arvil and Ruby Franklin, half-brother Jonathan Courtney, uncle D. C. Franklin and cousin David Franklin of Mills River, NC. Survivors include her parents , Sandra G. Beck of Brevard and Tommy Franklin of Mills River, a sister Lora Meadows (Bill) of Spruce Pine, NC, brothers Robert Franklin (Penny) and Jeff Franklin of Mills River. Aunts Linda Franklin of Mills River, Lucille Shipman (Charles) of Iva, SC, and great aunt Shirley Moon (Bill) of Monteagle, TN. Stepfather J. L. Beck, Sr. of Oxford, NC, step-brothers J Beck, Jr. (Pam) of Oxford, NC, T.L. Beck of Creedmoor, NC and step-sister Jeanne Beck Pulley (J.T.) of Franklinton, NC. Graveside services will be held 2pm, December 18, 2021 at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Mills River Later in the spring of 2022 a memorial service will be held.
