IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Stephen Louis
Landreth
September 7, 1954 – June 13, 2024
Steve Landreth, 69, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church, and friend to many. He was a Past Master of Dunns Rock Masonic Lodge #267 and member of the Masonic Lodge for over 44 years.
Steve was born on September 7th, 1954, in Brevard, to Lillian Moore Landreth and the late John Louis Landreth. He worked as a Maintenance Technician at Ecusta (over 30 years) and at Henderson County School System (over 15 years). He married his wife, Debbie, in 1973, and they had two children: Chris and Stephanie. He was a proud and loving grandfather of 4 grandchildren: Kylie, Addison, Juliet and Aria.
Steve was a man of faith and integrity, who lived by the principles of Freemasonry and served as the Worshipful Master of his lodge in 2023. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and was a fan of the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins. His green thumb was remarkable and fed not only family but many friends as well.
Steve was a quiet man, with quick wit, who loved spending time in the woods. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, no matter how hard the job, and could fix or build almost anything. He touched many lives with his kindness, generosity, and humor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He left this world too soon, but he went the only way he would have wanted… with his boots on.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deborah Marshall Landreth; his children, Chris (Renee), Stephanie (David); his grandchildren, Kylie, Addison, Juliet, Aria; his mother, Lillian; his brother, Dan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, John, and his sister Dianne.
A graveside service with Masonic Rites will be held on Tuesday June 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Blue Ridge Garden of Memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford (mhc-oxford.org).
