Steve Thompson Rosman – Steve Thompson, 56, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2013. A native of Henderson County, he was the son of Homer Edgar Thompson and Marie Williams Thompson of Hendersonville. He was preceded in death by his brother, Chip Thompson. Mr. Thompson was the caretaker of the Sylvan Valley Overlook Community in Rosman. He loved to fish, loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and most of all loved his grandchildren with his whole heart. He attended Faith Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Glenda Whitmire Thompson; daughters, Tonya Elizabeth Thompson of Hendersonville, and Christy Michelle; step-children, James Nicholas Begley of Rosman, Jami Begley Reese and husband Rev. Kyle Reese of Rosman, and Stacy Whitmire of Lake Toxaway; grandchildren, Cameron Marie Spangler and husband Brandon, Paiton Reese, Emmalie Reese, Maddox Reese, Hudson Reese, Tannor Whitmire, Langston Whitmire, and Gabriel Whitmire; great-grandchildren, Ottaumn Rayne Spangler and Maybin Blake Spangler; sisters, Sheila Holbert and husband Curtis, and Linda Johnson all of Hendersonville; uncle, Joe Ray Thompson; aunt, Frances Thompson. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kyle Reese officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A riverside service will be held at 1 pm Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Simon Hole in Rosman to honor his free spirit.
