Thelma "Mamaw" Galloway McCarter Rosman – Thelma Galloway McCarter, 79, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 6, 2014. A native of Transylvania County she was the daughter of the late Robert Thurman Galloway and Esther Chapman Galloway and was the wife of the late John Wesley McCarter. She was also preceded in death by a son, Jerry McCarter, six brothers and three sisters. Mrs. McCarter attended Rosman Church of God and she loved gardening. Surviving are her sons, Rev. Gary McCarter and wife Janet of Brevard, Larry McCarter of Travelers Rest, SC, John Devon McCarter and wife Dawn of Fairhope, AL; daughter, Cindy Raines and husband John of Rosman; sisters, Ima Jean Galloway of Rosman and Nannie Bea Whitmire of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. The graveside service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with Rev. Gary McCarter and Rev. Michael Pressley officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
