Thelma Jones Pace Cedar Mtn. – Thelma Jones Pace, 71, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 20, 2013 at Pardee Hospital, Hendersonville. A native of Greenville County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Clara Jones. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Ryan Dieterich and her sister, Jane Pierson. Mrs. Pace was a graduate of Rabun Gap School in Dillard, GA and she married John Douglas Pace in 1960. Mrs. Pace and her husband were former owners of Kelly's Restaurant, and she was a loving wife, mother grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was a member of Rocky Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, John Douglas Pace; sons, Randy Pace and wife Elisa, Michael Pace and wife Kathy, daughter Regina Pace and husband Clay all of Cedar Mtn.; adopted daughter, Romona Newton and husband Roger of Pisgah Forest; sister, Elizabeth Johnson and husband Jerry of Etowah; uncle, Mitchell Jones of Cedar Mtn.; grandchildren, Ariel Pace, Lance Corporal Colton Davis; step grandchildren, Alisha Spangler, Brittany Pace, Jacob Pace, Amber Strong and Whitney Jones; great grandchildren, Cayden and Braylin Dieterich, Trevor and Riley Spangler, and Payton and Titus Strong, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Rocky Hill Baptist Church with the Revs. Butch Skerrett and Ralph Lee, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bread of Life, 248 S. Caldwell St., Brevard, NC 28712 or to Rock Hill Baptist Church, Cedar Mtn., NC.
