Thomas Frederick Jones Jr.l, age 78, of Lake Toxaway died Thursday March 25, 2010. At Transylvania Regional Hospital he was born August 11, 1931 in Pittsburgh PA to the late Thomas F. Jonesl Sr. and Laura Wood Jones. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his spouse Doris C. Jones. Mr. Jones was retired from the U.S.Marine Corps, he served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.he also retired from Coats America and Mitchell-Bissell. He was a Past President of Rosman Little League and an avid Pittsburg Steelers and Atlanta Braves fan. His love of all sports especially baseball lead him to coaching. Survivors include "The Love of his Life Dena Miller of Lake Toxaway, six sons: Thomas F. Jones III and his wife Ann H. Jones of Hendersonville, James C. Jones and his wife Rita C. Jones of Horsehoe, Byron A. Jones and his wife Linda Jones of Brevard, Herbert L. Jones and his wife Margaret L. Jones of Brevard, "Biff" William P. Jones of Brevard and Michael A. Jones of Mills River, two daughters; Mrs. Deborah Jones and husband Ron of Brevard and Mrs. Jennifer Jonesand her husband Roy of LakeToxaway, two brothers Bobby Jones of Pittsburg PA and Walt Jones and his wife Peggy also of Pittsburg PA, four sisters, Mrs. Peg Eadie, Mrs. Laura Meyers and husband John, Mrs. Dee Mellott and husband Monte and Mrs. Patty Senko and husband Ray all of Pittsburg PA. seventeen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren several niece's and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be held Monday March 29, 2010 at 2:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church conducted by Father Carl T. Del Giudice. Interment will follow at Pisgah Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-8:30pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
