Tracy Thomas Rice, 83, beloved father, grandfather and friend to many passed away at his home in Rosman, NC on December 3, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was a native and lifelong resident of Rosman, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Jones Rice; his parents, Richard and Irene Rice, his brothers, Clyde and Bob Rice and his sister, Ruth Holliday. He served in the Army as a paratrooper and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Ecusta for 38 years before retiring in 1994. He is survived by his daughters, Pam Hall and husband Vann, Karen Owen and husband David and Linda Rice; his grandchildren, Jessica Hall, Chris Hall, Heather McGaha, Nicole Moman and husband Thomas and his great-grandchildren, Sawyer Massey, Maddison Massey and Calvin Moman. The funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dan Dellinger and Rev. Wally McCall officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
