Obituary

– V C Lusk, 79, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of Oconee County, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Bryant and the late Eunice Grace Bryant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Lusk, sons Randall Clint Lusk and James Junior Lusk, daughter Linda Sue Thomas, and brother, Johnnie Franklin Bryant. Mrs. Lusk was a founding member of The Church at Sapphire and had worked as a chef for The Old Inn at Sapphire as well as Lake Toxaway Country Club. Survivors include her sons, Lester Jack Lusk and William Deril Lusk; daughters Barbara Jean Vega, Patricia Ann Cannon, Martha Jane Lusk and Judy Moffitt; her sister Leona Alewine Cloar; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 12, 2012 at The Church at Sapphire with the Rev. Jackie Hensley, Rev. Rex Galloway and Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening, November 11, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Montvale-Whitewater Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Gavin Slade Jones Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, c/o BB&T (Lake Wylie, S.C.) P.O.
