Obituary

Brevard - VC Morgan, 84, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Thursday March 11. He was the son of the late Vando Morgan and Essie Brittain. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased in death by his wives, Mary Ann Morgan and June Morgan, brothers, Norman, Brian, and Lloyd Morgan, and sisters Ellen, Christine, and Vivian. A United States Navy veteran, he proudly served his country and retired after 20 years of service. He then went on to work for the City of Brevard and retired from there after 20 years of service. He was an avid gardener, and loved his church, Carr's Hill Baptist, where he proudly served his church family as a deacon. Survivors include his son David and wife Terri, daughter Kaye Miller and husband Steve, three grandsons, Joshua, Jake (Laura) Morgan and Dustin (Chelsea) Mehaffey, three great grandsons whom he adored, Carter, Will, and Maddux. Funeral services will be held 2pm at Carr's Hills Baptist Church with Pastor Shane Hardesty officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carr's Hill Baptist Church building fund.
