Vera Elizabeth "Cricket" Harris, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 16, 2017. A native of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Moore and the late Margaret Davis Collins and was the wife of the Late James Porter Harris, Sr. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Porter Harris, Jr. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Owen (Earl) of Cedar Mtn., Sherry Harris (Jerry) of Brevard, Sandy Beddingfield (Stanley) of Brevard; grandchildren, Tony LaRocca (Melissa), Jennifer Beddingfield (David), Brandon Beddingfield (Briana), Jonathan LaRocca; great-grandchildren, Nate, Kiersten, Chloe, Timmy, Grayson. The funeral service will be held at 11 am Sunday, November 19, 2017 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Harris Cemetery, Jackson Co., NC.
