In loving Memory of Vincent H. Crawford
Vincent H. Crawford longtime resident of Palm City died peacefully Saturday, October 2, 2010 at his home in Sapphire, North Carolina.
Born in Springfield Gardens, New York on May 8, 1920 he was the son of the late Henry and Grace Crawford. Mr. Crawford served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and was a pilot instructor. Mr. Crawford was the Deputy Superintendent of the New York State Banking Department, before becoming the Chairman of the Board of Albany Savings Bank. Mr. Crawford was an avid golfer and longtime member of Evergreen Country Club, Palm City and Burlingame Country Club Sapphire, NC. He has lived in Palm City, Florida and Sapphire, North Carolina with his current wife Terese for the last 19 years.
He is survived by; his wife Terese Crawford, sons Barry Crawford of West Islip, NY (wife Mary), Vincent Crawford Jr. of Port St. Lucie, FL (wife Veronica), Craig Crawford of Mechanicville (wife Linda), Matthew Crawford of Westchester, NY (partner Mark) Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mr. Crawford was predeceased by his first wife Helen Barry Crawford.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010 at Saint Jude's Catholic Church in Sapphire Valley, North Carolina and he will be laid to rest at Saint Agnes Cemetery in Menands, NY.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 5 pm Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home, Brevard, NC.
A memorial service will held at a future date at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City, FL.
