December 29, 1931 – December 15, 2015
Virginia Check Lutgens, 83, died suddenly Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Mission Health

grew up on Burnett St. along with her sisters, Charlotte (Lebeda), Harriet (Petner), Laura

Ginny attended St. James primary school in Woodbridge and later St. Mary's High

The lived in Edison, NJ for several years before settling on Green St. in Woodbridge where lay
raised a daughter and 3 sons over the following 25+ years. It was on Green St. that Ginny
began her love for gardening and flowers. She also began collecting antiques and loved
the "thrill of the hunt" mapping out garage and yard sales every Friday and Saturday morning.
After working many different jobs over her lifetime "but always working!" Ginny retired
from Chemical Lehman Tank lines of Newark, NJ. Upon her retirement Ginny and Ray
relocated to Etowah, NC. Sadly, not long after their relocation Ray was diagnosed with
cancer which took his life shortly after.
A few years later Ginny met and later married George Lutgens of Brooklyn, NY.
She resided at 12 St. Andrews dr. in Etowah with George over 17 years. She loved Etowah
and her neighborhood. Her flower gardens became a passion of hers and she proudly
displayed photo of them year after year. She loved her family and her friends both old and
new. She looked forward to card games and playing mah-jongg. Mostly she loved helping
and doing what she could for the people she knew. God called her home on Tuesday and
she will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
