Brevard - Virginia Price Penland, age 79, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 5, 2020. She was the wife of the late Ronald Penland and they were married for 50 years before his passing. She was the daughter of the late John Nelson Price and Mae Johnson Price of Brevard. In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by sister, Patricia Woodson, brother, J.C. Price and niece, Paula Aiken. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Transylvania County, a graduate of Brevard High School, a graduate of Blanton Business College and worked at Ecusta for over 30 years. She was a member of St. Timothy United Methodist Church. Survivors include one sister, Dot Owen (Paul) of Balsam Grove, sister-in-law, Glenith Price of Brevard and brother-in-law, David Woodson of Powdersville, SC. In addition to her family Virginia had many special people in her life including Mike and Julie Whitmire, Earl, Sharon, and Austin Jenkins, and Lou Ashworth. Graveside services will be held 2pm, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory with her nephew, Rev. Patrick Owen officiating.
