Mills River – Wayne Noland Owen, 53, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 9, 2010. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of Marie Wilson Owen of Pisgah Forest and the late James R. Owen. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by two daughters, Jennifer and Rebecca Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Ruby F. Owen; 2 sons, Billy and Joseph Whitaker both of Fairview; one daughter, Sarah Owen of Brevard; one brother, Billy Owen of Penrose; one sister, Linda Seager of Hendersonville; two grandchildren, Tyler and Jordyn Whitaker of Fairview. The memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Wilson and Sarah Owen officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
