Rosman - Wilda Faye Smith, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on January 2, 2026. She was born on June 1, 1942, and lived a life marked by love, faith, and devotion to her family.
Wilda was preceded in death by her husband, George “Buddy” Smith; her loving parents, Volney Stamey and Eva Galloway Stamey; her beloved siblings, Harold Stamey, Evelyn Stamey, Robert Stamey, and Edward Stamey; and her cherished daughter, Angela Brown.
She is survived by her children: her son, James Brown and his wife, Donna Brown; her daughter, Tabatha Brown; and her son, Richie Brewer. She is also survived by her loving brothers, Troy Stamey and his wife, Linda, and Randy Stamey and his wife Diane.
Wilda leaves behind her treasured grandchildren: Jaime Davis and husband Malcolm, Kayla Palmer, Zachary Stiles and his wife Micaela, Lacey Demorne and husband Roosevelt, and Patience Blankenship and husband Joshua. She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and happiness. Wide adored spending time with them and took great pride in her growing family.
Wilda was a faithful member of Affirmative Word Tabernacle of Roseman, North Carolina, where she loved worshiping and serving the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided her through every season.
She was a dedicated professional, having worked as a real estate agent with Caldwell Banker and as a manager with the Asheville Citizen-Times. Wilda was known for her strong work ethic, leadership, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she met.
Those who knew Wilda will remember her loving heart, her strength, and her unwavering faith. On January 2, 2026, she entered Heaven and was welcomed with open arms by her Savior and reunited with the loved ones who had gone before her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds peace in knowing she is now whole, healed, and rejoicing in eternal life.
Services will be held at Affirmative Word Tabernacle in Rosman, North Carolina, on January 12, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 1:00 p.m.
