William Walker Daves, age 77, of Brevard died Sunday July 4, 2010 at his residence. He was born January 31, 1933 in Jackson Co. to the late Ira and Elsie Step Daves. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter Elsie Jean Daves , two sons Tony Franklin Daves and Arlend William Daves, three brothers; James, Bud and Sonny Daves and two sisters Gracie Lusk and Janie Daves. Mr. Daves was retired from the City of Brevard . Survivors include his wife Betty Gray Daves of the home, two sons: Keith Walker Daves Sr. and Timothy Coleman Daves both of Brevard, one daughter; Mrs. Sharon Ann Smith of Brevard, eleven grandchildren, Clayton Daves, Corey Daves, Keith W. Daves Jr. Coleman Daves, Maria O'Sheilds, Jessica Goff all of Brevard, Joshua Raines of Rosman, Jason Warren of Jackson Co., Daniel Warren of Charlotte and Dale Warren of Columbia SC. And fifteen great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 7, 2010 at 11:00am at Shoal Creek Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tommy Owen, Rev. Randy Stamey and Brother Pete Dodson. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Keith Daves Sr., Keith Daves Jr., Tim Daves, Josh Raines, David O'Sheilds and Jason Warren. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7-8:30pm at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home.
