Balsam Grove - William Joe Galloway (Bill) passed away Saturday, December 23rd, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents: Wiley and Bessie Burrell Galloway, his brother, Jim Galloway, his sister, Patsy Galloway Patterson, and nephew Benjamin Galloway.

Bill was educated at Rosman High School, Rosman NC. He then worked at Olin Paper Mill for a few years, Afterward, he was employed by E.I. Dupont De Nemours and Company and worked until his retirement at approximately fifty-five years old. He also spent a few years "reading meters" and raising cattle on a small farm.

Bill professed Christianity early in his adult life. Consequently, he spent the remainder of his life as a member of various Baptist Churches. He serves these local congregations in a variety of capacities, such as lawn caretaker, custodian, Sunday school teacher, and deacon. He enjoyed sharing his faith with many he encountered.

He leaves behind his wife Nancy McCall Galloway; Two sons: Ronnie Galloway (wife Rebekah) and Rick Galloway, as well as seven grandchildren. And many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend gratitude to the staff of Transylvania County Hospital of Brevard, NC Mission Hospital of Asheville, NC, and the Elizabeth House of Flat Rock, NC.

Funeral services will be held 2pm, Friday, December 29, 2023 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
