William Hampton Hall, Sr. Etowah – William Hampton Hall, Sr.,84 passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at Stuart-Meyer Hospice House, Palm Coast, FL. A native of Sylva, NC, he was the son of the late Henry Hampton Hall and Iris Bryson Hall. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Hall Justus, and his first wife of 17 years, Elizabeth Cannon Hall. Mr. Hall was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Randolph. He was retired from Olin Corp. and was a member of Etowah Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Margaret DeBord Hall of Flagler Beach, FL; daughter, Nancy Hall Peace and husband Terry of Flagler Beach; son, William H. Hall, Jr. and wife Wanda of Etowah; son-in-law, Billy Justus of Etowah; sisters, Ruth Ashe and husband Ray, and Carol Ann Calhoun all of Sylva; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, August 24, 2013 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel, Brevard, NC, with the Rev. Terry Peace officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Etowah Lions Club.
