William D. Holden
Brevard – William D. Holden, 66, finished his earthly life on Friday, November 22, 2013. He was at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals following a stroke. He was blessed to be released from his pain and sufferings with much joy in being reunited with those waiting for him on the other side.
Mr. Holden was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a faithful member and provided many years of loving service. He had a listening ear and was always willing to help others. He faithfully completed what a loving Heavenly Father had asked of him.
He retired from Winn-Dixie after 39 years as a butcher and mid-level management. He enjoyed music, fishing, and going to Dollywood.
A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Erwin Joshway Holden and Bonnie Lee Glazener Holden. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters; Elizabeth Ann Holden Tinsley, Nancy Lee Holden Bracken, Michael Erwin Holden, Robert Carroll Holden, and Lewis Scott Holden. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Karen Diane Bundrick Holden.
Surviving is his wife, Shirlene Olsen Holden.
The funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, November 30, 2013 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brevard Branch, 980 Neely Rd. Burial will be in Holden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.
