William Baxter "Dock" Jones, 90, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2012. A native of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late John Edward Jones and Beulah Gossitt Jones. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Dan Medford Jones and Moyce Joe Jones, brothers, Johnny and Julian Jones, and sisters, Margaret Matthews, Margie Littleton, and Pearl Revis. Mr. Jones was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great-great grandfather. He was veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving during WW II, and was of the Church of God faith. Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Addis V. Chapman Jones; daughter, Betty Jones Bryson and husband Dennis of Brevard; son, Billy Edward Jones of Brevard; grandchildren, Kimberly Clark and husband Dickey of Hendersonville, Jeff Bryson and wife Pam of Elizabethtown, KY, Brandon "Buck" Jones and wife Mandy of Brevard, Brandy Jones of Illinois, and Michael Jones of New York; great-grandchildren, Chad Galloway, Andrew Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Dillion Bryson, Taylor Nicole Clark, and Terrance Benz; great-great grandchildren, Anthony and Caroline Galloway; 48 nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 pm Tuesday, February 21, 2012 in the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the NC National Guard and the Honor Guard for Veterans of Transylvania County. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any veterans organization or to the Alzheimer's Association.
