William Howard Mooney Sr. Went home to be with Jesus his Savior on Tuesday October 5, 2010. Born June 2,1930 in Haywood County NC to the late Gilmer and Mary Mooney. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by His daughter Linda Faye McCall and a granddaughter Melissa Frederick. Mr. Mooney was a devoted husband and father, a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a former treasurer of the Blue Grass Association. Survivors include one son; William Howard Mooney Jr. and his wife Pam of Spindale NC, three daughters; Patricia Lynn Mooney of Lowell NC, Anita Carol Whitesides and her husband Rev Terry Whitesides of Lake Toxaway and Brenda Mooney Henson and her husband Keith of Brevard, one sister; Mrs. Edith Mooney Farmer of Canton, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday October 9, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Cross Roads Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Terry Whitesides, Interment will follow at Pisgah Garden. Visitation will be from 11:00am Until 12 noon at the church prior to the service on Saturday. Serving as pallbearers will be his grandsons.
