Brevard – William M. Veasey, 72, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011. A native of Roanoke, VA, he was the son of the late Haywood Daniel Veasey and Bessie Epperly Veasey and was the husband of the late Ruth Veasey. He was also preceded in death by his son, Daniel Scott Veasey, his daughters, Linda Joyce Veasey, and Eleanor Ruth Veasey Booth, and his brother, Steve Veasey. Mr. Veasey was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Brevard. Surviving are his granddaughter, Katherine Orr of Etowah, and his grandchildren, Sara and Austin Morgan. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 19, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Brevard with the Rev. Danny Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Gardens with military graveside rites conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Brevard.
