Winfred "Toby" Carlos Owen, 68, went home to be with the Lord on Monday January 18, 2010 surrounded by his family. Toby was preceded in death by his wife Faye Parris Owen, father Sam C. Owen and his brother James L. Owen. He is survived by a son David C. Owen and wife Karen "Cotton" of Rosman NC, A daughter Debbie Johnson and husband Eric of Hendersonville NC and two beautiful grandchildren Lauren "Pumpkin" and Lance "Bert". He is also survived by his mother Mae G. Owen of Brevard. Three sisters; Helen McMahan and husband Auzel "Wimpy" of Brevard, Doris O. Jones of Pisgah Forest, Agnes Osteen and husband Joe of Brevard. Three brothers; Lloyd and wife Jackie, Donald and wife Doris, Dennis and wife Stacy, all of Brevard NC and an Uncle Junior Galloway and wife Mary of Sylva. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Toby retired from Dupont/Agfa in 2000 after 41 years of employment. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bluegrass music and being with family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 23rd, 2010 at 3:00PM with visitation from 1:00-3:00PM in the Chapel of Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. Rev. Don Waters will be officiating.
